"Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - Mark Twain
Today is my last day in the US until December 18. I'm spending the semester in the amazing city of Paris, France with a program through New York University. I decided to start this blog to keep friends and family updated on what I'm doing this semester. I'll post pictures, stories, and just things about "ma vie quotidienne" in Paris.
My parents dropped me off at the Greensboro airport this morning, without tears, which is a major feat. I'm currently sitting in the Charlotte airport, rocking in the white rocking chairs, waiting for my flight to Paris in about 2 hours. In the weeks and days leading up to the trip, I've been super nervous and worried about the trip, however today I haven't felt nervous at all. I've had a strange peace about me and I'm so excited to get to Paris. On my flight from Greensboro to Charlotte, all I could think about was where I wanted to visit while in Europe. It's going to be hard being away from everyone for 3 1/2 months, but what better place to spend that time away than in Paris? I arrive in Paris early tomorrow morning where I'll hopefully meet up with Aubrey, a Wake student who is flying in from Chicago on my program, and we'll catch a taxi to the FIAP, a long-term hostel we're all staying at until we get moved to our permanent residences this weekend. I'll update as soon as I get wifi.
